Lyrics
I dreamed there came four horsemen a-riding into town
The thunder of their horses hooves, it shook the very ground
From the shops and windows the townsfolk watched in awe
Uncertain what to do about these bandits that they saw
Yippee-ki-oh! Yippee-ki-ay
Yippee-ki-oh-woh-woh! yippee-ki-ay!
The first one's name was Ignorance, he rode a horse of gray
The color of the creeping fog that hides the light of day
The little public school house, he set it all aflame
He burnt the books of learning, it was a crying shame!
Yippee-ki-oh! Yippee-ki-ay
Yippee-ki-oh-woh-woh! yippee-ki-ay!
The second horseman's name was Fear, a yellow horse he rode
He tried to terrorize the town with stories that he told
He said there was a boogeyman that meant to do them harm
He instigated panic, he spread a false alarm!
Yippee-ki-oh! Yippee-ki-ay
Yippee-ki-oh-woh-woh! yippee-ki-ay!
Hatred was the third one's name, he rode a horse of red
Like the blood that innocents throughout the ages shed
He had no rhyme or reason, he needed no excuse
He took his twisted rope and he threaded up a noose!
Yippee-ki-oh! Yippee-ki-ay
Yippee-ki-oh-woh-woh! yippee-ki-ay!
The final horseman's name was Greed, upon a horse of green
Astride he sat with stove pipe hat, his eyes were cold and mean
The other three, they worked for him, they did his bidding well
And so they set upon the town, four horsemen from hell!
Yippee-ki-oh! Yippee-ki-ay
Yippee-ki-oh-woh-woh! yippee-ki-ay!
Yippee-ki-oh! Yippee-ki-ay
Yippee-ki-oh-woh-woh! yippee-ki-ay!
In my dream the townspeople together found the strength
To stand against Fear, Ignorance, Hate and Greed at length
It took a bit of courage, but arm-in-arm they stood
And the four horsemen met their match, they left the town for good!
Yippee-ki-oh! Yippee-ki-ay
Yippee-ki-oh-woh-woh! yippee-ki-ay!
Yippee-ki-o-o-oh
